
Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): The United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) has announced the election of Michael Sangtam as its President and A. Shyerhunlo Lorin as General Secretary for the 2025-2029 tenure. The decision was made during an Emergency General Meeting held on December 30 in Dimapur.
The party also elected founder members Ntsemo Ngullie and T. Wati Jamir, alongside O.K. Temjen and Imti Jamir, as advisors.
In his acceptance speech, Sangtam expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to lead the UNDP toward progress while upholding its core values. He reaffirmed the party's dedication to pursuing an early resolution to the Naga political issue and urged both the state government and the Government of India to implement the agreements, including the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position.
The UNDP extended appreciation to all members and stakeholders who participated in the meeting and expressed optimism for a prosperous future under its new leadership.
