KOHIMA: Imkong Imchen, Minister for Information Technology & Technical Education confirmed that the State Implementation Unit had implemented the Central government’s Technician Education programme under the World Bank Project.
Replying this to MLA KV Pusa’s query, he stated that the amount of fund received by the Department during 2004-2005 from the WBP was Rs458.10 lakhs and that this money had been utilized for Civil works such as the construction of Office buildings/Hostels/ Class rooms/ residential buildings at Govt. Polytechnic, Kohima, Khelhoshe Polytechnic, Atoizu and the Institute of Communication & Information Technology, Mokokchung. He further revealed that the funds were utilized for consultancy and training programmes, procurement of reading material & learning resources equipment, consumables and their maintenance and Staff salary.
Imtilemba, Minister, Transport to State, stated that 30 nos. of chassis buses were procured during 2004-2005 and the bus bodies are under construction and in the final stage of completion.
Stating this in the session to the query of MLA KV PUSA, he said that on delivery, these buses would be deployed to different routes for replacement and augmentation of the existing services, including new services.
