Minister Kaito addresses LSU 49th general session

Lozaphuhu | January 10 : “Village unity is paramount to ensure the existence of peace in the society. Where there is peace and unity, development would follow automatically,” stated Kaito Aye, Minister, Road and Bridges, Government of Nagaland. He was addressing the 49th general session of the Lozaphuhu Students’ Union (LSU) held on January 7, last here at the Lozaphuhu village junction, some 8 Kms away from Phek Town.
Calling upon the students’ to march forward as per the motto of the Union, “Marching Forward” he maintained that it should become the slogan for the Nagas. Encouraging the students to excel in studies, Aye observed that this village was producing good leaders and gazetted officers’ and urged the community to instil a sense of humility and generosity instead of selfishness. Stressing on the importance of socio-cultural values he said that exchanging of assets by the students community with other tribes would enrich building up of better relationship from among them. Nagas are a small community and therefore every effort should be made to fight division and priority should be to maintain unity amongst the Nagas, Kaito added.
Speaking on the need to utilise Government funds like NREGA judiciously, Kaito called upon the village leaders to fight corruption and not to be selfish. Kaito further assured that initiatives were being taken by the Government to bring about the economic and all round prosperity of the people.
The day long programme was graced by Razouseyi Vese, Principal, GHSS, Chazouba as the session guest speaker. Vese in his speech advised the students to be sincere in their duties and have proper aim in life. LSU President Shekhozo Rhakho in his presidential address acknowledged the chief guest for sparing his valuable time showing great concern for the student community. The programme began with the invoking of God’s blessing by Kuvengoi Vese, Pastor Lozaphuhu Baptist Church.
