Minister Pangnyu addresses rally in Singrep

Pungro, October 23 (MExN): Picking up the pace of campaign to the bye- election at 60 Pungro - Kiphire Assembly Constituency, Minister for Health & Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom addressed a public meeting at Singrep Village—the native village of  the PDA government’s consensus candidate Lirimong Sangtam, on Friday.

Stating that Lirimong Sangtam has been chosen by the PDA government as its official consensus candidate in order to ‘usher peace and development in the region,’ a press release from the Minister’s Media Officer quoted him as saying “No other candidates shall be accommodated in PDA Government except our official candidate Lirimong Sangtam.”

Phom is also said to have asserted that Singrep Village Council has to come forward to carry the candidature of Lirimong Sangtam and reach out to the surrounding villages, according to the release.

“He shall not only represent you in the State Assembly, but shall be there to mediate peace amongst the various communities living in the District,” Pangnyu said.

According to the release, in order to  diffuse ‘rumour mongers,’ the Minister stated “There is no such differences between the NDPP and BJP  Alliance Partner  as claimed by our opponents,” and urged the general public not to be swayed by various propagandas being spread by unscrupulous persons to create discord within the alliance.

Terming Sangtam’s candidature as a ‘blessing’ that has reached the doorstep of Singrep Village and Pungro - Kiphire, Phom stated that it is for the people to decide whether to receive the blessings or not.

He further urged the public not to look at the candidate alone, but to concentrate on Central leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Nadda, and of  PDA Alliance leaders such as that of Chief Minister Neiphiu  Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, State BJP President  Temjen Imna Along, and President of NDPP, Chingwang Konyak ,who are at the forefront of the PDA  coalition government.
