Mokokchung, September 28 (MExN): Nagaland, Minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum interacted with various Mokokchung stakeholders and visited Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT) on September 28.

During the visit, Er David Tsela, Principal ICIT appraised the Minister about issues faced by the institute, especially the need for introduction of new diploma program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering, stated a press release from the Press Secretary of the minister.

The principle said that the need for skilled technicians in electrical and electronics engineering and civil engineers have increased with the coming of new development and technologies. He also said that with the introduction of the programmes there is a huge potential to increase the enrollment of students in the institute.

Meanwhile, the minister said that with the service sector opening up in the states, it is high time for the young Naga professionals not to wait for the state government for employment but start their technical expertise with all the start ups coming up in the state, especially in electrical and civil engineering projects. He also gave assurance as the chairman of Mokokchung DPDB to do whatever necessary possible to address their representation with the department concerned and the state government.

Later, he interacted with the executive engineers from all divisions of Road & Bridges in Mokokchung district and National Highway and Mokokchung Milk Union. He also visited the site for the proposed recreational park in Mokokchung town.
