Minister visits zoological park

Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): The minister for Forests & Excise M. C. Konyak visited today the fire occurrence site at the Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar, which took place on March 6. "He took stock of fire incident site, on the north-eastern side of the park".  
The minister said that such "mischievous practice by anti social elements shall not be tolerated by the department". He appealed to all "public in general and younger generation in particular to protect and preserve the only natural recreational and educational place “Zoological Park” in the vicinity of Dimapur town", informed a release issued by wildlife wing of the forest department, Nagaland. He appreciated all the rank and files of Zoological Park staff, security personnel posted in NZP  and fire tenders of Fire Brigade, Dimapur for their timely action taken for dousing the forest fire in spite of strong wind on that particular day, the note added.
It also mentioned that the minister visited the Deer Park area, which is under construction and other developmental activities inside the park and acknowledged his appreciation to the officers and staff of Wildlife wing for their dedication of works towards development of the Park.
