Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The student-teachers of Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima along with teacher-educators went on a one day educational field trip to Khezhakeno village in Phek district on April 7. The purpose of the field trip was to get acquainted with new places and to study and observe the educational system of that particular area, according to a press release from the Principal of MITE. The team visited and observed different government and private schools. The student-teachers interacted with the villagers, students and teachers in the village. They also visited the famous Chida lake.
Workshop organized at MITE Kohima
Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima in collaboration with the Nagaland Education Association (NEA) also organized a workshop on “guidance & counseling” at the college auditorium on April 7. Dr. Zavise Rume, Associate Professor, Guidance & Counseling Cell SCERT & President, NEA facilitated the student-teachers on the importance of guidance & counseling, informed a press release from Principal, MITE. He emphasized on group counseling with an objective of preparing teachers on how to provide group guidance & counseling to the students. Touching on different types of group guidance and counseling, he stated that teachers should be prepared to counsel and guide the students. A total of 66 student-teachers along with the Teacher-Educators participated in the programme, which concluded with a discussion on the theme.
