Mixed results for Nagaland in Senior Women’s T20 and CK Nayudu Trophy

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): Nagaland’s cricket teams had contrasting outcomes on Tuesday, suffering a comprehensive defeat in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2024-2025 while still holding a fighting chance in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy 2024-2025.

Senior Women’s T20 Trophy
At the CK Pithawala Ground, Surat,  Nagaland struggled in their match against Saurashtra, posting a mere 50 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Alemienla was the top scorer for Nagaland with 11 runs, while Saurashtra’s N Chavda excelled with the ball, taking 2 wickets for just 6 runs. 

Saurashtra chased down the target comfortably, reaching 51 for 2 in just 7.5 over. Umeshwari Jethva scored an unbeaten 21. 
Nagaland’s next match in will be against Jharkhand at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat on October 24

Col CK Nayudu Trophy
In the Col C K Nayudu Trophy, Nagaland is currently up against Goa at the Sovima Cricket Ground.  After Day 3, Nagaland trails by 95 runs, with Goa scoring 459 in their first innings. Shivendra H Bhujbal led the charge for Goa with a remarkable 164 runs, supported by Chittem Devankumar’s 80. Anil Gupta took 3 wickets for 80 runs for Nagaland.

In reply, Nagaland managed 257 runs in their first innings, with Mughavi Sumi contributing a 56.  In their second innings, Nagaland concluded the day at 107 for 3 after Sumi was dismissed for 57.

Yugi and Vishal Sahani remain at the crease, as Nagaland aims for a strong finish in the match, which will resume tomorrow for its final day.
