Aizawl, July 7 (PTI): Mizoram's COVID-19 tally rose to 22,155 as 301 more people, including 66 children, tested positive for the virus, a health department official said on Wednesday.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl reporting the highest at 205, followed by Lunglei at 41 Mamit at 31, he said.
Of the 301 new cases, 47 were confirmed through RT-PCR test, 19 were detected through TrueNat and 235 were detected through Rapid Antigen Test, the official said.
Seven patients have travel history, while 294 were found to have contracted the disease locally, the official said.
The single-day positivity rate is at 8.48 per cent as the 301 fresh cases were detected from 3,549 sample tests, he said.
The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 98.
Mizoram now has 3,674 active COVID-19 cases while 18,383 people have recovered from the infection so far.
The northeastern state has tested 5,10,467 samples for COVID-19 till date.
Meanwhile, State immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said that over 5,49,233 people have been vaccinated till Tuesday. PTI COR RG RG
