Mokokchung District Veteran Football Association (MDVFA) today emerged Champion of the 13th edition Nagaland Veteran Football Association (NVFA) Inter-District Tournament 2026.
In a final match, played at Old Showuba Local Ground in Niuland district, Mokokchung defeated defending champion Kohima District Veteran Football Association 1-0.
Rongsenchiba netted the winning goal for Mokokchung team.
Earlier, Mokokchung defeated Wokha in the first semi final while Kohima overpowered Zunheboto in the second semi final.
Mughato Ayemi, vice president, Nagaland Football Association & president Dimapur District Football Association and Mathew Yhome, president Kohima District Football Association were the patrons of the 1st and 2nd semi finals match respectively.
In the closing ceremony, NVFA president Anthony Ngullie, gave the closing remarks while vote of thanks was proposed by Hetovi Yepthomi, General secretary, Niuland District Veteran Football Association (NDVFA). The tournament was hosted by NDVFA.
