
Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): The Mech Kachari Public Organisation (MKPO) and the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Minority Wing have mourned the demise of Ramesh Hasnu, President of Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland, who passed away on March 18.
In a message received here on Monday, the MKPO remembered Hasnu as a man of faith who has helped the people at various levels. He had been a champion towards uplifting the Kachari Community and always been a spearhead for the society, it said while adding that Hasnu had always tried to bring forward the cause for the Kachari community and the minorities of Nagaland. “He had been fighting for the indigenousness of the Kachari tribe of Nagaland. The bonding of the Dimasa Kacharis and Mech Kacharis of Nagaland towards Naga brothers was his greater goal,” it said while adding that the MKPO would always appreciate his good gestures and remember his noble cause.
Further, stating that losing a person of such high morale and stature was a great loss for the Kachari community and the society as a whole, the MKPO stated that Hasnu had committed his life for the betterment and development of the society and the place he held would be hard to fill. “MKPO also grieves with the bereaved family and prays for God’s comfort and peace to be upon the family,” it added.
In a separate message, the NPF Minority Wing President Bishnu Bhattacharjee, on behalf of the Minority Wing Central and Dimapur Division extended deepest condolence to the bereaved family members of the departed leader and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
“It is an irreparable loss for the minority community in particular and Nagaland in general. He will be remembered at the heart of the people of Nagaland for his immense contribution in society as a dynamic leader and a visionary social worker from minority linguistic community,” the release stated.
