
Kiyezu village holds centenary memorial session
Dimapur, January 28 (MExN): MLA and Chairman, Development Authority of Nagaland, Jacob Zhimomi today encouraged the people of Kiyezu village to “work and eat” and not to succumb to the greed of money. Addressing a gathering of villagers, leaders and elders at the village’s first triennial session of centenary memorial celebration, Jacob stated hard work and honesty is the key to success. Also stressing on the need for peaceful coexistence, Jacob urged the people to maintain the spirit of peaceful coexistence with the neighbours.
Even with the dawn of new era, Jacob reminded, it is important that people uphold the cultural values of the villages and strive for all round developmental advancement, besides giving more importance towards education, which he asserted, is the foremost requirement for the growth of the society.
Jacob attributed Kiyezu village as a significant village that has played major role in the creation of Western Sumi. He graced the occasion as chief guest and inaugurated the centenary memorial boundary wall.
Kiyezu village, under Niuland sub-division was established in 1911.
Hokiye Yepthomi, president, Western Sumi Hoho and Ghokivi Tsakhalu, Junior Engineer, R&B Dimapur shared greetings on the occasion. Pastor of the village church Pihoshe Assumi shared message from the bible and prayed for blessings. Obed Zhimomi, village chief delivered the welcome note.
Dedicatory prayer for inauguration of centenary memorial wall was said by Akatoli, women leader while invocation for the main programme was pronounced by Rev. Atovi Zhimomi, former pastor of the village.
