MLA Thongwang appeals to end political differences for development

Mon, January 10 (DIPR): MLA & Chairman NKVIB & DPDB Mon N. Thongwang Konyak has appealed to the people of his constituency to leave behind all political differences and extend full cooperation to the government to pave way for community development.  

Speaking at the inaugural of Chi Chingngoi Chunhoa morung of Chi village on January 9, he informed that smooth development cannot take place in any society without peace and unity of the people. Thongwang also assured he was ready to take up any projects for the development of the community. Emphasizing on need of quality roads, he said without proper transport and communication, we cannot achieve economic development.

Informing that morung is a place of learning to teach all kinds of human development and behaviour, he urged the people to uphold the moral values and tradition of the morung, and make it a centre of learning. He also lauded the leaders of the morung for taking the initiative and completing the building in time.     
   
The Deputy Commissioner, Mon Angau I Thou, IAS, who graced the occasion as the guest of honour recalled that morung imparts training to the youths to become a responsible citizen of the society as per the traditions and culture of the Nagas. She appealed to the youths and the leaders of the Chingngoi Chunhoa morung to take the initiative of transforming the mindset of the Konyak society and set good example to the people of the district to march forward. She also advised to have strong determination to acquire quality education for human development and extend full cooperation to the government for all round development of the district.
The Chief Guest along with the Deputy Commissioner and his entourage also visited Longgok Morung and interacted with people.

Earlier, welcome address was proposed by Hanlong Konyak, Chairman Construction Committee. The celebration was marked by cultural dances and special numbers.
