Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude jolts NE, epicentre in Manipur

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted North East region at 11:08 pm on October 10.

India's National Center for Seismology stated that the epicentre of the earthquake was located 30 km west-northwest (WNW) of Bishnupur, Manipur at a depth of 28 km from the surface.

Early report indicated that the tremor was felt across the region, including Nagaland and Assam.

There has been no immediate report of any damage.
