Modern College conducts painting training

Kohima, October 26 (MExN): Fourteen participants were successfully imparted training various theoretical and practical aspect of painting recently in Kohima.  

The two-week training was organised by Modern College, Kohima in collaboration with Dziiviirii Panchayat and supported by Tata Trust and Asian Paints.  

According to a press release from the college, during the theory classes, various knowledge and information on colours and paints were imparted to the trainees through short videos, slides and lectures.  

In the practical, conducted at Dziiviirii Panchayat hall, the trainees were exposed to the actual realm of paintings with various colours. They were also taught the art of painting various special designs.  

The training was aimed for youths especially school and college dropouts so that they may acquire skills with which they can earn their livelihood, the release said.  

As a skill center, Modern College has earlier provided training on carpentry and currently has Bachelor Vocation in Retail Management & IT, it said.  

Certificates will be awarded to all the successful candidates based on their performances both in theory and practical by Asian Paints, it added.
