Senior officials of HiKOKI Power Tools India Pvt. Ltd. Formally inaugurates the Phase 2 campus road of Modern College in Kohima on August 12.
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): Modern College reached a significant infrastructure milestone on Wednesday with the inauguration of the 2nd Phase Campus Road by senior officials of HiKOKI Power Tools India Pvt. Ltd.
The delegation from HiKOKI comprised Director of Sales Rajan Batra, Assistant General Manager (Supply Chain Management) Harsha Kumar, and Business Manager Ravi Atkare.
The programme commenced at 10:30 AM with a prayer by Pezangulie Keyho, Pastor of Piphema (A) Baptist Church, followed by the formal unveiling of the campus road monolith and a sapling plantation drive.
Chaired by Fita Pfinyu, a fifth-semester B.A. student, the event featured a project briefing by Pelee Hekha, Managing Director of Modern College. Hekha expressed gratitude to HiKOKI Power Tools for funding both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the 2.5-kilometre campus road, noting that the thoroughfare connects critical sectors of the campus and significantly eases daily transit for the student body. Mhonjan Kithan, a third-semester student, also shared student perspectives on the benefits of the completed roadway.
Addressing the gathering, Rajan Batra outlined HiKOKI's global footprint, operational presence in India, and core Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy of "Beyond Just Business." Highlighting the company's three-year partnership with Modern College, Batra announced that HiKOKI will now fund and initiate the third phase of the campus road project while expanding its CSR footprint annually.
Harsha Kumar, Assistant General Manager at HiKOKI, encouraged students to pursue higher education with confidence and an open mindset, reiterating the company's commitment to empowering youth through educational infrastructure development.
The inaugural event also included special cultural performances presented by first-semester B.A. students and Ameka Shohe.
