Modern College Week 2025 concludes

PIPHEMA, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): Modern College concluded Modern Week 2025 on Thursday, wrapping up a week-long celebration of literature, culture, and sports under the theme “Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Present.”

The event featured Literary Day on February 11, Cultural Day on February 12, and a Sports Meet from February 13 to 15. The festivities also included the 10K Open Mini Marathon, flagged off by RV Philip, second-in-command of the 78 BN CRPF, Zubza, which saw participation from runners across the state and neighboring regions.

The Literary Day featured story writing, poetry slams, quiz competitions, and painting, fostering artistic expression among students. Cultural Day revived indigenous traditions with folk songs, go-cart races, war cry performances, and a traditional fire saw display. The Sports Meet brought competitive spirit to the forefront, with students competing in football, volleyball, basketball, javelin throw, badminton, board games, and track events.

Blue House emerged as the overall champion with 1,500 points, followed by Yellow House with 1,140 points, Green House with 1,130, and Red House with 970. Sports Secretary Pashan Shio announced the winners, while Assistant Sports Secretary Moalong Imchen expressed gratitude to participants and organizers.

The week concluded with a closing ceremony at the college’s indoor stadium, attended by faculty members and students. The event ended with the Lord’s Prayer, signifying unity and gratitude.
