Modern College’s B Voc internship conclude

Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The students of Bachelor of Vocation (B Voc - Retail Management & IT) at Modern College completely their one-month internship stint from April 1-30 across retail stores in Kohima and Dimapur. 

As per a release from the college, during the internship, students from the 6th, 4th and 2nd semesters got trained in retail specific job roles such as Sales Associate, Department Managers and Store Managers.

Student-interns job specific retail operations including visual merchandising, stock control, stock taking, stock inward, opening and closing of store, and cash handling were taught during the internship.

Apart from the specific skills sets, they also learnt the importance of professional skills such as punctuality at work, time management, communication, leadership and team work abilities \ while interacting with customers and co workers, the release said. 

The B Voc programme at the college give emphasis on the internship to acquire first hand experience in real work environment apart from their theoretical knowledge, it added. 
The  partnering organisations were Max, Pantaloons and Westside in Dimapur and First Cry in Kohima.
