Forwards to government for further steps
Mokokchung, April 15 (MExN): The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held at the DC’s conference hall, Mokokchung on April 15. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Speaker NLA & Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sharingain Longkumer.
While discussing the agendas, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji elucidated on preservation of DC Bungalow, Mokokchung as a “heritage building,” which is 145 year old building.
He said “the building needs major renovation but once it is done it would be an asset not only for the people of Mokokchung district but for the people of the entire State.” The house approved to forward it to the government for further steps, a DIPR report added.
Earlier, reviewing the last meeting minutes, the speaker Sharingain Longkumer thanked all the members of the House for their support and contributions towards the success of Cherry Blossom Festival, held in the district (Longkhum Village) for the last two years.
Sharingain said, “apart from the traditional festivals we must also encourage other festivals like the cherry blossom and cucumber festival etc in the district not by replicating others but by bringing in innovative ideas and creativity.”
Reports on preparedness for long monsoon season was given by the department of PWD (National Highways and Road & Bridges), while status report of Capital Assets was given by the department of District Soil & Conservation, Executive Engineer, PWD (NH), District Horticulture and Fire & Emergency Services.
