Mokokchung health dept conduct 3rd quarter district review meeting

Mokokchung, November 7 (MExN): The 3rd Quarter District review meeting for Mokokchung was held on November 6 at the Mokokchung Chief Medical Officer’s Conference hall.

According to a press release received on Sunday, the CMO Dr R Chubala Aier began the meeting by lauded the attendees for their dedication, sincerity and hard work. She urged the participants to continue to be vigilant and aware, since COVID-19 cases are slowly going up. Speaking on the ‘focus’ of the 3rd review meeting, she stated that bio-medical waste management and infection control to be the topic of discussion.

In regard to vaccination for COVID 19, she apprised the house that several beneficiaries are overdue for the 2nd dose. Stating that there is a lot of work to be done, she encouraged the attendees to conduct door-to-door vaccination campaigns. She also instructed all the Medical Officers to monitor and supervise the health centres from time to time so that they can identify the gaps, problems and difficulties. Since the government is focusing in health infrastructure, she emphasised that it is the responsibility of the health care workers to work together with the stakeholders, the release stated. 

Dr Tiasunep, Programme Officer, NVBDCP & DSO, Mokokchung presented an overview of COVID 19 in Mokokchung district. While presenting statistical data on COVID 19, he informed that there are 77 testing sites, and also mentioned the rate of daily and weekly positivity as per the reports collected in the 2nd quarter of 2021 and data on percentage of death as per gender, age and comorbidity, the release stated. However, no further details about the reports or data were mentioned in the press release.

Dr Imsongienla, MO, RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram)Mokokchung presented on screening process/mechanism of RBSK and activities undertaken, covering Anganwadi Centres and Government schools in the month  of September and October 2021, it said.

As per the release, Dr Maongkala, MO, Mongsenyimti PHC enlightened the attendees on ‘Gap analysis and Action planning.’ She re-oriented the attendees on the process and activities involved in conducting gap analysis, generating its score card, its format and quality assurance cycle. She also made a presentation on root cause analysis, and action planning and its methodology, it stated.

Further, Sentirenla Longchar, NUHM Consultant, made a PowerPoint presentation on SWOT analysis. She made a brief introduction to SWOT as a tool to identify strength, weakness, opportunities and threats by strategic use of data and information gained from situation analysis of internal and external environments. Akumjungla, Psychiatric Nurse, DMHP IMDH presented an overview of activities undertaken, the release stated.

All the senior medical officers (SMOs) and Medical Officers (MOs) presented a PowerPoint presentation on bio-medical waste management and infection control, its challenges and suggestions, it added.

The meeting was attended by all Programme Officers, Senior Medial Officers, Medical Officers, staff of DPMU, NHP, RBSK, and IEC.
