Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung celebrated its cultural day as a part of the college week at the college premises on September 27 with Imyaba Ao, District Art and Culture Officer, Mokokchung graced the day as the guest of honour.
In a short exhortation Imyaba Ao defined the tangible and non-tangible aspects of culture citing various examples. He also said that the present generation assimilates very well with the western and foreign culture, and it is good to learn and experience new cultures, however, we should not ignore the cultural values of our forefathers and try to learn about our rich and unique tradition from our elders. He also encouraged the JMC students to be kind and hardworking and be responsible citizens.
A cultural dance was presented by the JMC students and different competitions were held among four houses which included Folk Drama, Storytelling, indigenous fire making and folk fusion song competition.
