The 61st Teachers’ Day celebration organized by Ao Students' Conference (AKM) with Supongnukshi Ao, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest as the main speaker was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on September 5. The theme of the celebration was ‘Leading in Crises, Re-imagining the future.’

Supongnukshi Ao, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest urged the teachers to inspire children with their creativity and passion. He added that a teacher should be committed, compassionate, and persistent when responding to the changing process, as well as make an effort to comprehend a student's inherent skills.

While speaking on the theme, he said that teachers are pillars of society who, in addition to being role models, play an important role in moulding a student's destiny. He said that teachers have a great deal of responsibility, which should be seen as a challenge rather than a burden.

He continued by saying that a student's time in school is the most important period of their lives, that it is a period of confusion and insecurity, and that it is during this period that everything they learn forms them into the people they become. The speaker therefore asked the teachers to be ready to set examples and motivate students toward holistic development.
