The valedictory programme for the three-day intensive training for Animal Health Service Provider for Angetyongpang area organised by the Angetyongpang Development Board (ADB) in collaboration with the office of the Chief AH & Veterinary Officer Mokokchung, was held at the Conference hall, State Poultry Farm, Mokokchung on November 25. The resources persons for the training were Dr Watitoshi, VAS and Dr Nemjemyanger, FM.

Dr BM Sunep, Chief AH & Veterinary Officer, Mokokchung in his commendation note mentioned that the training was a first of its kind in the State where an elected legislator took the initiative to impart technical training for the farmers under his constituency.

He mentioned about the occurrence of the economically dreaded disease like the African fever and classical Swine Fever, for which there is no vaccine nor treatment and, therefore it is necessary that each village has at least a couple of animal health service provider so that knowledge on the importance of maintaining bio-security measures are given to the villages and other preventive measures adopted before the disease strikes.

He added that this will also help in gainful self-employment and in even starting their own livestock farming in a much better way.
Imlitoshi Walling, Member, ADB Mokokchung unit, while sharing his words of appreciation acknowledged and thanked the department of AH & Veterinary Mokokchung for their sincerity and hard work to impart practical inputs to the trainees and also to the MLA for the noble initiative taken.

An experience on behalf of all the trainees was shared by Alinungsang, where he acknowledged and thanked for the opportunity and privilege given to them to attend such training.

Altogether 42 persons from the area were trained by the team of officers from AH & Veterinary Department. These trainees will provide services in their respective village and ward under the active supervision of the Veterinary Department in the District.

It is worth mentioning that this noble venture of forming the ADB is the brain child of Tongpang Ozukum, MLA and Advisor, Water Resource, Government of Nagaland with the vision to uplift the economic conditions of the people through various training programmes of which the first step is taken in this regard.
