A farewell programme of Deputy Commissioner of Mon, W. Honje Konyak was held on November 24 at District Executive Hall, DC office complex, Mon.
“Don’t look or compare with those who are lazy and irregular in works but instead keep on doing what you have to do so that at the end you will be happy in life,” the DC said in his speech. He lauded all the staffs, subordinates officials and the civil societies for cooperation and support in all the activities during his tenure.
Mon being one of the most backward districts in Nagaland, he said, it is far lacking behind in every sphere. Therefore, he appealed to the government employees and people of Mon to work harder and go extra miles in order to progress in all round development.
Stating that sincerity and dedication is essential in all works, he urged all the employees who are posted in Mon district to be sincere and work hard. Honje, the brain child of ‘I Love My Mon Town’ which was started in 2015, encouraged to take up initiatives by all people for better and cleaner Mon Town.
This can only be achieved when people start thinking about change and actively participate, he added. Honje urged all citizens to be part of ‘I Love My Mon Town’ and extend helping hand so Mon Town will be one day a beautiful town.
He acknowledged that the activities carried out successfully during his tenure as the DC was because of cooperation and support from the public. He urged to extend the same cooperation to the incoming Deputy Commissioner in the days to come. Speeches were delivered by several officials.
