Mon: Outreach camp at Angjangyang Suspected measles samples collected

Mon, November 7 (MExN): After receiving reports of cases with measles like symptoms (fever with bodyrash, flu and cough) in patients at Jakphang and neighbouring villages in Mon district, a medical team from the Community Health Centre in Aboi set out to conduct an outreach camp at Angjangyang.

On November 6, the team conducted screening, vaccination and monitoring of the overall health status of the general citizens of Jakphang, Angjangyang and Changlang village, a press release informed on Sunday.

A total of 212 patients were screened and were provided with medicines for various ailments. House to house visits were also done for monitoring and surveillance of measles outbreak and samples were collected, it said.

The team was led by Senior Medical Officer and in-charge CHC Aboi Dr Neiphrezo, Medical Officer Dr Hangsha Konyak, and Dr Mero (RRT WHO) along with two nurses, two lab technicians, two drivers, and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Co-ordinator of the block.
