Phek, February 16 (MExN): A one-month long mathematics coaching class for HSLC appearing candidates (Class 10) under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao got underway at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek on February 15.

This is being initiated by District Administration & District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek in a bid to boast the confidence of the students appearing the HSLC Examination 2021, stated a press release from DA & DLCW MSK Phek. 

Razouvolie Dozo, Deputy Commissioner, Phek said the initiative to organise coaching camp was undertaken to help the students during this crucial hour since they were affected in their studies by the pandemic. The DC was of the view that poor performance in mathematics has been a concern in all over the district. So inorder to boast their moral and also for students to get good grade, the initiative was taken by the administration under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. 

Speaking during the inaugural session, N Bhavani Sri, IAS,SDO (C) Nodal Officer BBBP, Phek urged the students to have an ambition, be consistent and work upon it to achieve their oriented goals. While also called upon the students to work hard to excel in their academic performance. 

She hoped the students will put their effort to learn and benefit alot during the free coaching. She also requested them to work hard and be sincere during the month long coaching. 

Nodal officer asked the students not to take up studies just as a responsibility but as a passion. Adding that mathematics is very important for developing analytical skills she also emphasized that aptitude is extremely important for clearing many competitive exams such as UPSC, CAT, GMAT etc. 

GHSS, Phek Principal Kewetshete Wezah said the students should grab the opportunity to prepare themselves for exam and come out with flying colors. 

He urged them not to just come for the sake of attending the coaching class but to have their goals and know the purpose. Advising them to adjust with the students of different schools, he also anticipated on students to ask doubts and not to show attitude. 

The teachers for this coaching are Ashok Kumar, B.Sc. Math, B.Ed, Kezevituo Chielie M.Sc. Math, B.Ed. Around 200 students from Phek in different institutions have enrolled for the free coaching class. With two batches on daily basis, the class starts from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. 

Meanwhile, notebooks, pen, masks, hand sanitizer and refreshment were distributed to all the students during the first day. The coaching class will then conclude on March 15.
