Kiphire, June 12 (MExN): The Monthly Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on June 12 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire. The Vice Chairman DPDB Kiphire and Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Mohammad Ali Shihab, IAS welcomed the Board members in the meeting.
The Board reviewed the previous meeting minutes regarding creation of new EAC HQ at Tepe area and the proposal submitted by Langzanger village for setting up a Sub-centre at Langzanger Village. DC requested the district officers to highlight and inform to their parent Department to implement programmes successfully in the district. He informed the district officers to be prepared for their presentation as and when they are given opportunity.
Assistant Election Officer (AEO), Olivi Thurr expressed her happiness to the District officers for their cooperation during the process of election. DC mentioned that Kiphire was the most peaceful district in Nagaland during the Election.
SP Kiphire who is being transferred to Mon recently said that staying in Kiphire was always eventful. He thanked the NGOs of Kiphire for cooperating with the police and the district administration. SDO Civil Kiphire, Nchumbemo who is being transferred to Mokokchung recently also gave a farewell speech.
DC introduced the new member of Lead Bank Manager Kiphire, Birjeet Singh to the Board members
Wokha: The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on June 11 at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman DPDB & DC Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS.
According to a DIPR report, Chairman DPDB Wokha and Advisor for Information Technology, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy Mmhonlumo Kikon and MLA Dr. Chumben Murry also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Board felicitated HSLC subject toppers and HSSLC topper, the chairman handed over cash awards and certificates to the meritorious students. District Education Officer also presented a brief report on HSLC result 2018.
The board also approved recognition and up-gradation of Perennial Montessori School, Bethsaida Kindergarten School, Wokha and grant-in-aid to Bethel High School Wokha. The vice chairman requested all departments to extend co-operation during the District Specific Study on Swachh Bharat Mission for the year 2018.

MLA, Dr. Chumben Murry presented modalities for Wokha town-Year of Cleanliness 2018-19 with the motto ‘Cleanliness from within’, in this regard the chairman directed to form a core committee for Wokha town cleanliness committee headed by ADC, Wokha involving representatives from stakeholders, churches AUDO, DFO, DEO and youths of Wokha town and youths from Wokha village and Longsa village for implementation of the same.
The chairman on behalf of all the legislators of the District thanked the SP Wokha, Bharat Market, IPS for his valuable and good service rendered during his short tenure in the district. SP also thanked all officers in the district, NGOs and general public for the support extended during his stay at Wokha.
Zunheboto: Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on June 8 with Chairman DPDB, Khehovi, Advisor for Tourism, Kaito Aye, Advisor Agriculture and Co-operation, Pukhayi Sumi, Advisor (FCS, NSDMA and Legal Metrology) and K. Tokugha Sukhalu, Advisor Education.
It was stated in a DIPR report that during the meeting, the legislators expressed the need for expanding economy by activating the Government departments in the District. Therefore, they requested all the heads of offices to rededicate themselves and serve the department with sincerity. HoOs were requested to be creative and come up with new and innovative proposals in the DPDB meeting.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, SDO Civil, Ajit, IAS highlighted on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Parhao’.
The members discussed in regard to creation of Treasury Office at Satakha and entrusted STO (Treasury Officer) to furnish the details. Creation of SDO (Electrical) at two administrative HQs i.e. at Satakha and Suruhuto was deliberated. In this regard, the concerned officer has been directed to submit the report. The agenda relating to opening of Government Primary School (GPS) at North Point, Akuluto town could not be deliberated due to the absence of DEO Zunheboto. G.B Association of Zunheboto town requested the board members for financial assistance. And the Board has agreed to take up the matter.
The ‘Vision Document’ of the DPDB and ‘Coffee Plantation’ was deliberated where the members have been directed to prepare and submit. In regard to opening of Government Primary School at DC hill (East), the Council Chairman concerned has been directed to submit the report through DEO Zunheboto. The members agreed with the proposal for construction of multi- purpose hall in the Zunheboto town.
Immediate need for construction of new building for Administrative officers, S.E. (Senior Engineer) complex, Government High School, PWD Mechanical and Housing were deliberated. And all the HoOs concerned have been directed to identify the site suitable for construction and submit their report.
The board members during the meeting discussed issues pertaining to Land owner and it was decided to set up a committee to tackle such problems.
Principal, Zunheboto Government College has been directed to submit detail reports in regard to his proposal laid down during the meeting i.e. introduction of Science Stream, introduction of Sociology as elective subject, introduction of honours in Education department, renovation and extension of rooms and water supply etc. DAPCU Zunheboto unit gave power-point presentation in regard to their activities in and around Zunheboto. The member also highlighted about poor facilities which is an impediment to their performance of duties. The DAPCU have been directed to give their report. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Tridibesh Roy IAS.
