Dimapur, Jan 14 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) today cautioned that more blood may flow in Nagaland ‘again’ as the NSCN (IM) leadership has declared that it will ‘confront the force of evil at all cost’.
The NNC, in a press statement issued by member Thomas, criticized the statement of the NSCN (IM) leadership which local dailies quoted as saying “We will confront the force of evil at all cost” on January 12 last. The statement said, “the flow of blood in Nagaland can be stopped only when they (the NSCN -IM) say ‘we stop killing’ and admit we have committed wrong by forming a socialist organisation to fight against the NNC”.
Expressing displeasure at the stance of the NSCN (IM), the NNC statement called the faction as the ‘greatest evil force’ and warned that more blood may flow in this year too as the NSCN (IM) did not heed to the voice of the Naga people to ‘stop killing. “Now also the Nagas have no expectation that they would stop killing” it stated.
The NNC statement in an apparent ridicule of Isak Chisi Swu’s declaration of forgiveness to those who committed ‘crime against the people and the NSCN (IM)’ stated, “It is unfortunate that till now they (NSCN-IM) do not realize that killing is a sin and crime against the Naga people… Are they above the Naga nation? Or above God?” questioned the NNC.
The Nagas are condemning and fighting against the NSCN (IM) as the ‘anti-Christ, anti-Naga and anti-social activists’, NNC stated. “To check such evil activities in Nagaland by Naga Christians is the right thing to do for the interest of peace and tranquility in Nagaland” the statement added.
