Mokokchung, March 4 (DIPR): In Mokokchung town, Law Enforcing Agencies, armed with Nagaland Total Prohibition Act continued its firm hand against shipment and sale of liquors and offenders were instantly punished under relevant Section of the Act.
On March 2, Police arrested two persons in the town for possession of banned liquor and brought before the Judicial Magistrate, Ajungba Imchen who were later convicted under Section 44 of the Nagaland total prohibition Act and the seized liquor were also confiscated by the court. The confiscated banned liquors were also destroyed by three members of Destruction committee on March 3 in the court complex.
This is the second arrest and seizure of banned liquors in the town in four days. Similar destruction of banned liquors and conviction of the accused persons were held on February 28 in Mokokchung town.
