Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): ACAUT Nagaland today expressing its resentment over the August 26 kidnapping stated that when the whole world, including the state of Nagaland, is grappling with the pandemic, the incidences of extortions and the report of kidnapping of an employee of SymBios Creations Private Limited at Dimapur is unfathomable.
ACAUT Media Cell in a press statement said that a time when everyone should be joining hands and working toward the revival of the economy and society, there are still elements that would not stop at anything for their greed and material gains, completely devoid of humanity and suppression of their instinct for compassion, such actions of few individuals are a shame not only to the organizations they serve but to the character of Nagas as a whole.
It further appealed to the authorities concerned to show no leniency in pronouncing punishment and let the due process of law to take its course. Meanwhile, ACAUT applauded the swift action of the police in rescuing the victim and congratulated ASI Vikishe Chopy whose alertness and presence of mind led to the timely rescue.
DDCF: The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) condemning the August 26 kidnapping stated that at such an uncertain and challenging time caused by the pandemic when the people from all sections of the society are trying to come to terms with the “new normal” and trying to adapt and earn livelihood, “such unwarranted acts of kidnapping is criminal and ought to be condemned by one and all.”
“Such unwanted act is not expected from any of the NPGs especially when the talks for final acceptable solution, is looking like it is in the last stage,” DDCF Media Cell stated in a press note. DDCF while appreciating the swift action of the Dimapur Police in rescuing the victim and apprehending the culprits has appealed the authorities concerned to book the perpetrators as per the law in a befitting way. It also appealed to all to report any such unwanted criminal activity immediately to the authorities concerned.
ASTD: The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has condemned the kidnapping incident which occurred in broad daylight on August 26.
ASTD in a press release stated that when the people of Nagaland are prayerfully yearning for a fruitful solution, such act by members of the NSCN/GPRN (K) has totally curtailed the faith and aspirations of the people.
The ASTD reiterated and reaffirmed that “in the event of any untoward incidents or wrongful or fallacious eventualities that might happen to any of our Ao citizen/members, it shall leave no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators into justice.” Further, the Union has urged the law enforcing authority to thoroughly investigate into and award befitting punishment to the accused as per the law of the land.
Meanwhile, ASTD appreciated the personnel of West Police Station, Dimapur led by ASI Vikishe Choppy for apprehending the kidnapper and also acknowledged the initiative of Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation for lodging the FIR.
