MoRTH invites grant applicants for road safety advocacy scheme

Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has invited various agencies and organisations working in the field of road safety, to apply for the ‘Scheme of Financial Assistance for administering Road Safety Advocacy and awards for the outstanding work done in the field of Road Safety.’

Non-Governmental Organisations or Trusts under the Indian Trusts Act, Cooperative Societies under Societies Registration Act, firms registered under the Companies Act, 1956/2013, and academic institutions accredited/affiliated to or recognised as a University or Deemed University by UGC Act would be eligible to apply, according to a press release issued through the state DIPR on Tuesday.

The Ministry has invited applications from interested and eligible organisations making positive contributions in the field of road safety for grant of awards to the agencies involved in road advocacy and allied activities. The applications will be accepted through the online portal on the Ministry's website (https://morth.nic.in) and the portal shall remain open with effect from December 16, 2022 to January 15, 2023, it informed.

According to the DIPR, the objective of the scheme is to stimulate and encourage opportunities for various agencies through participation, in order to create awareness of road safety with a focus on a result-oriented outcome and reduction in road fatalities through behavioral changes. The scheme will work in alignment with the objectives of the National Road Safety Policy.

Guidelines for the scheme which will remain in operation till March 31, 2026, are available on the Ministry’s website, it added.
