The Directorate of Higher Education and Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, on June 9 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in skill-based and vocational education across higher education institutions in the State.
The partnership aims to promote resource sharing, capacity building, certification mechanisms, and enhanced employability opportunities for students through the introduction of emerging and industry-relevant courses, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Convergence Technologies, and other skill-oriented programmes.
Under the MoU, Technical Education will extend its technical expertise, infrastructure, skilled manpower, and institutional resources to support colleges under Higher Education. Training programmes will be conducted through Polytechnic institutions and other designated centres, with provisions for both physical and virtual modes of delivery.
The collaboration envisions the development of a structured framework for integrating skill and vocational courses into the higher education ecosystem, enabling students to acquire future-ready competencies aligned with evolving industry demands.
The initiative reflects the Government's commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing employability, and creating greater opportunities for youth through inter-departmental cooperation and effective utilization of existing educational resources.
Together, Higher Education and Technical Education are paving the way for a more skilled, empowered, and future-ready generation of learners in Nagaland.
