PEREN, JULY 3 (MExN): Lok Sabha MP and DISHA Chairperson for Nagaland, S. Supongmeren Jamir, on Friday said the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) serves as an important platform to review the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, identify challenges, and improve the delivery of government programmes through constructive discussions.

Addressing the DISHA meeting for Peren district at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Jamir said the objective of the meeting was to assess the progress made since the previous review, identify implementation bottlenecks, and collectively find solutions to ensure development projects are carried out effectively.

He said the discussions were intended "not to criticise any department but to ensure the effective and judicious implementation of development projects," adding that officials and committee members should openly deliberate on issues "without bias."

Jamir also noted that communication gaps and delays in sanctioning projects at the Central level often affected timely implementation in the state. He said the issues and recommendations raised during the meeting would be incorporated into the minutes and forwarded to the concerned ministries, while matters requiring intervention at the national level would be taken up by him in Parliament and with the respective ministries.

Calling for active participation, he urged all members to share their views without hesitation to improve the implementation of government schemes.

The DISHA meeting reviewed the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and other developmental activities in Peren district.

During the meeting, presentations were made by Farm Manager, PBC Jalukie, Dr Suiyipeube Mpom of the Veterinary Department, Senior Inspector of the Labour Department Kevilhoubei Theünuo, and District Agriculture Officer Dr. Zieleigai Ndang, outlining departmental activities, implementation of schemes and progress achieved.

Following the presentations, the MP, Deputy Commissioner and committee members sought clarifications on various issues and offered suggestions to strengthen implementation and ensure effective delivery of government programmes. The committee also deliberated on several other issues concerning the overall development of Peren district.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, Peren, welcomed the MP and his team, nominated non-official members, the chairmen of New Peren Village, Kejanglwa Village and Old Chalkot Village, as well as district officials who are members of the committee. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Deputy Commissioner.
