MPL 2017: PowerComm FC officially crowned the Champion

Morung Express News Kohima | July 8   The PowerComm FC was officially crowned the Champion of the Morning Premier League 2017 during the closing ceremony programme of current season held here at the Unit Ground, 4th NAP Battalion, Thizama.   With a decisive 7-4 win over Amur Falcon FC during the last encounter of the season on July 7, PowerComm took the title with superior goals differences over Medical XI.   While the final tally of both the team stand at 41 points from 18 matches, PowerComm with a superior goal difference topped the MPL’s League table.   Individually, Mele Pucho from Amur Falcon FC was the leading goal scorer of the season with _ goals and bestowed ‘the Golden Boot’ title while his teammate Ben Tungoe got the Golden Glove title.   Dikwa from Morning Football Club was declared the player of the season   The PowerComm FC was also bagged the ‘Fair Play Award’ for the 2017 season.   Meanwhile, an exhibition match between MPL XI and CASE Premier League XI, from Dimapur was also held during the closing programme. The MPL XI won the match 5-1.
