Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) has asked the Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur to arrest the administrator of a Facebook page for allegedly sharing vulgar content.

MSCW, in a statement, stated that it took cognizance of a gross immoral activities perpetrated by one Yumnam Piba bearing facebook profile link https//www.facebook.com/yumnam.piba by creating a private group on Facebook with 27.1k members under the vagarious till in Manipur “Kanglei Image ….nupising” which goes viral nowadays on social media.

The intended meaning of the title of the group is highly sexualised, suggesting the photos uploaded in the groups are of indigenous female prostitutes, with frontal nude photos, the MSCW alleged. "It amounts to breach of privacy and confidentiality, misrepresentation, publication for fraudulent purposes, publishing private images of others, without consent on social media as if there is no rule of law to monitor such serious cyber crime," MSCW also said. “This is a frontal attack to cyber security victimising many families, innocent women who are online with good intention,” the women commission observed.

MSCW strongly condemned the page and their action. They are becoming a parasite to society, the statement asserted. It added that the commission has directed the DGP to arrest the page admin which goes by the name “Yumnam Piba” and its associates and to erase the account.
