Wokha, May 24 (MExN): Mt. Sinai School Wokha, the Wokha Town Baptist Church sponsored School got an HSLC Topper for the first time this year since its establishment in 1984. The emotions were visible at the felicitation programme held today at the School premises as this success came after the school had its share of ordeals, bringing the enrollment of students from 1400 in the late 90s to a mere couple of hundreds until three years ago.

Zujanbeni N Ngullie daughter of Nzanbemo Ngullie, a teacher at Govt. Higher Secondary School Wokha secured the 45th position among the top 50 at the recent 2013 HSLC examination. She scored distinction marks in all her papers for which she was loaded with various presentations from all her subject teachers, school managing board, Alumni Association, her former teachers etc. Zujanbeni who determines to study medicine in the future gave credit to God, her teachers, both past and present, and her parents for her success. “What I’m today is not because of who I am, but because of what the Lord Jesus has done for me." She also encouraged her juniors to be hard working and sincere.

Chairing the function, Thungchibemo T Lotha, the Headmaster and the person behind reviving the School said though the pass percentage this year was just 61%, there was quality in the successful students.  Parents of the topper also expressed sincere appreciation to the institution for the success of Zujanbeni and offered gifts to former and present teachers and others. at the event
