The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church organized a retreat for children from other districts on 2 October at MTBA, Mokokchung where 428 participants took part in the retreat. The resource persons for the retreat were Rev. P. Chuba, Rev. Wati Pongen, Longjendi, and Sashimenla.

The friends from other districts are helpers who mostly come for education from other districts and also states and live with guardians in
the town, according to Rev. Ponen Longchar, Pastor, MTBA. “We have been organizing such retreats for children from other districts and states for the
past ten years,” informed the pastor. He also said that the purpose of organizing such retreats was to prepare them mentally and spiritually and to help them understand the value of education so that when they go back to their home town and villages, they will be able to give back to their society.

The retreat had two sessions, where the participants were enlightened by the resource persons. They were led into singing, worship, and fun activities by the MTBA Youth Department. The participants were divided into two groups on the basis of their age. The sessions for the age 13 and below group were held at the MTBA Conference Hall while the sessions for the age 14 and above group were held at the main church.
