Zunheboto continued to feel the impact of the monsoon as another mudslide was reported from the Satakha sub-division on September 26. Following the previous week’s destructive mudslides, which destroyed paddy fields in Kilo Old village, today’s mudslide claimed one life. According to police sources, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm on the Kilomi-Satakha road, currently under construction. The deceased victim was said to be a labourer, identified as Thuchuviyu Keyho (27 years), who was working for a construction firm. The sources said that he got caught while trying to get away from the path of the mudslide. He reportedly slipped and fell, while a few others managed to get to safety.
