Dimapur: For the food and café lovers of Dimapur, there has been an addition of a cozy spot to hang out in town. Moreover, if you want a feel of home while out, Muffet’s Pantry could be the one you are looking for. Located at Duncan Bosti, the basic idea of Muffet’s Pantry is to make customers feel like they are entering their own kitchens as the name suggests. The café is an outcome of the owner’s love for cooking. She has no professional training in cooking; however, she has always been passionate about it.

In an interaction with The Morung Express, the owner, Merenla Imkong, said the café will serve no specific cuisine, but variety of stuff focusing on providing casual dining. However, it was revealed that Merenla’s cheese cake, kimbap, and sandwich are pretty famous among her friends and families. She also emphasized on serving quality and comfort food. A teacher by profession, the café is Merenla’s first business venture. She expressed hope that with Nagas developing the culture of eating out, the café will do well, provided its quality is sustained. Muffet is also the nickname of the owner given by her aunts.

The café was officially opened for customers on April 14. It will be open 11:00 am to 7:00 pm throughout the week except Mondays. On Sundays, there will be buffet different from the usual menu. The café will also provide catering services. Apart from what’s in the menu, the Pantry can also take orders for other dishes. Not forgetting Naga dish in its menu, Muffet’s Pantry will serve sticky rice with spicy non-veg chutney. One can also follow the café on Facebook @ Muffet’s Pantry for updates on special dishes et al.

The whole idea of the café, Merenla said, is to make people feel comfortable and at home, hence “the décor is more like home.”
