MUK & MSUK honours successful students of HSLC and HSSLC exams

Kohima, May 28 (MExN): Mao Union Kohima (MUK) and Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK) jointly organized a felicitation programme for the successful students of HSLC and HSSLC cum conferment of Ashikho Daili Trust Award for Academic Excellence (ADTAFAE) for HSLC topper at Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) here on Sunday.   Mao Council president, Peter Khrasi IRS (Rtd) in his address challenged the toppers and successful students to do even better in future saying that nothing is permanent one has to keep striving to achieve in life. He advised the students’ community to have strong will and determination and put their aims into action and make it reality. He stressed the need of maintaining good health to enable them to work hard to be a successful person. He cautioned the students’ community that the available modern technology facilities should not drive away their attention to achieve something.  

Encouraging the students to focus on quality education, he said whoever shines in his/her studies in whichever subject would find the right job either in government sector or private sector. He advised the students to take firm and strong personal decision without the influence of others.  

Modern College & MITE managing director Pelee Hekha in his exhortation said anyone who do not give up and keep striving by overcoming the different obstacles with positive mindset would become a successful and achiever in life.  

Esther Chakre, top 6 (Arts) HSSLC said determination is the key to success and need quality of study hours and not quantity. She attributed her success to God, teachers and family members. Asiisa Liriina, Top 20th HSLC also spoke at the function.  

H. Choro spoke on behalf of the parent for successful students.  

ADTAFAE patron Ashikho Daili also exhorted the gathering and gave away the ADTAFAE award and citation to HSLC top 20th Asiisa Liriina.  

Esther Chakre HSSLC top 6th (Arts) was felicitated by the organizers and Mao A.G. office staff with cash award.  

ADTAFAE member secretary James Athikho said the Trust Award was constituted in 2005 for the toppers of HSLC candidates and 13 toppers got the award so far.  

The programme was led by Ashuni Sapriina while welcome address was delivered by MUK president Loli Athikho Lirute. Vote of thanks was proposed by MSUK president Akha Losii.
