KOHIMA, APRIL 13 (DIPR): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) through a press release has lauded the prompt response of the people of Kohima City to the call for Mass Social Work on 12th April 2006.
The release said that the Social Work was a major success in taking a step towards a cleaner Kohima. With the monsoon approaching, which is the time when people suffer hazardously faced with choked drainage/nullahs, landslides and muddy situations, it is a pre-emptive action of the people to prepare and ease the problems. Once again, the KMC urges the people to continue the spirit of working for our surroundings as all the localities put together makes the city a whole one, and it belong to all concerned citizens.
The KMC well appreciated the various government Departments that have come forward with its staffs and machineries to assist the work, viz, Urban Development District Administration, Police, Fire Services, Works and Housing, Power, GREF, Sericulture, IPR and others.
The KMC is also gratified with the Colony/Ward Panchayat, Youth and Women Organisation for coordinating a collective response towards the purpose.
