Murder suspect found dead

Morung Express News Dimapur | January 14   A man suspected of involvement in the murder of a woman at Bhandari was found dead on January 14. The body of the suspect, Samuel Jongkor was found hanging from a tree in a forested area at Boro Lengri II, which falls under Dillai Police Station, Karbi-Anglong Autonomous District.   Accused of being behind the Bhandari killing, the suspect, reported to be in his 40s, was reportedly on the run and missing from Bhandari since December 31. The woman’s body, whom he was accused of killing, was found in a staff quarter of the 7th NAP headquarters, Bhandari on January 8.   As per the preliminary report, the body was discovered by woodcutters at around 9:00 am-10:00 am. SDPO, Bhandari when contacted said that the suspect’s body was taken into custody by the Dillai PS. Queried on the cause of dead, the SDPO replied that it could be ascertained only after the post-mortem scheduled for January 16 at Diphu.   Citing call records, the SDPO said that the deceased suspect was in Dimapur on January 2 and was in Diphu on January 9. It was still to be ascertained when he was last seen before the discovery of the body today, it was added.
