Musicians and artistes respond towards ‘Touch Jorhat’ concert

Mokokchung, July 14 (MExN): The stage is set for the free concert in aid of the flood victims in Jorhat district of Assam. Within two days since it was resolved for the free concert to be held at MMC Shopping Complex, the I Love Mokokchung facebook group has mustered massive support from every section of the society with overwhelming response from the people.  

The Organisers in a press release informed that already, a huge number of well-known singers and entertainers in Mokokchung have agreed to perform at the concert free of cost. Mokokchung has no shortage of talented singers and every performer that was contacted by the organizers was responded positively. Already more than twenty singers and bands have confirmed their participation at the free concert.   “I am overwhelmed at the massive response from all the singers and performers,” said Adang Jamir, the show director of the free concert. The singers will be singing different genres of songs like rock, hip-hop, pop, gospel music etc. Moreover, another added attraction will be dance performances by up and coming young dance crews who will surely entertain the audience with their synchronized and acrobatic rhythmic moves.   Ever since the facebook post on ILM by a member in I Love Mokokchung page, the initiative towards the free concert has garnered much support and it is expected to be one of the biggest free concerts at Mokokchung town in recent times.   The list of bands and singers to perform at the concert are: Tune Up Channel, Infuse, Scan Wheels, Funk Fuss, Sixer Six, Huntingboots Inc., School of Music, Mokokchung , Acappela Group Tongdentsuyong Ward, Lijem, Menty P, Madang, Renthungo Odyuo, Taliakum Pongen, Atoba Longkumer, Senti Longkumer (Tube Screamer), Ayusangla, Tiayanger, Limayanger , Imtichuba, Chubanungla, Tiasola Ozukum, Jentiyanger and Imchachet N Jamir.   The upcoming dance crews to perform are – Pop Corn, Ice Crew, and Stereo Freaks.   The entry will be free of cost. Free will donation will be collected. Meanwhile, the organizers have extended an appeal to the citizens of Mokokchung to show their solidarity to the people of Jorhat who are the immediate neighbors, the main trading place and the community with whom the Mokokchung people shares an age-old relationship in good and bad times.   Through this concert, the organizers hope to show the people that humanity has no boundaries and that music touches every heart.  The organizers hope that this small gesture of organizing the free concert in aid of the flood victims would go a long way in rebuilding the age old relationship, foster friendship and touch hearts.   The organizers maintains that this free concert dubbed “Touch Jorhat” on the theme ‘Know thy neighbor’ in aid of the flood victims, will be just like a drop of water towards the cause of humanity, but it is our hope that this drop would create a small ripple in the ocean of humanity.   The organizers also invites all the citizens to come and enjoy a night of songs and dances as the cause towards humanity and love for ones neighbors triumphs in the heart of the people.
