Artis Bertulis, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to India today inaugurated ‘Musify’ (the music room) at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) Jotsoma near Kohima.

“We discovered your beautiful voices and numerous talents,” said Bertulis in his third time visit to Nagaland.

He said there are lots of similarity between Nagaland and Latvia in terms of strong in performing music and arts and also in painting.

Bertulis said that the other day he met Nagaland’s chief minister Neiphiu Rio and they discussed on the future plans for music education to make it sustainable.

Theja Meru, advisor Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) said that Musify is the initiative of TaFMA, which is basically a music room and will serve as a space for practice, talk show, recording of songs and videos.

TaFMA project director Dr Hovithal Sothu also present at the function.
