Musik-A Festival announces new details

Musik-A Festival is coming back this weekend with some great events and artists just to make sure people get out of their homes and have some quality time with their friends and families in the midst of the Covid chaos. 

The three-day Musik-A Festival will be at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Sovima 6th Mile, Dimapur from February 18 to 20. Earlier scheduled on December 7 to 9, the festival had to be postponed due to the Oting incident on December 4, 2021. 

Alobo Naga, director, Musik-A made the announcement of the new dates and changes in the festival during a press conference on Tuesday at Nagaland Coffee. 

“We are coming back with the Musik-A Festival which was supposed to happen from December 7 to 9 but unfortunately because of the Oting incident we had to postpone it last minute. We went through a huge lost financially and in terms of others also which we don’t want to disclose much,” Alobo said. 

He added that Musik-A Festival was a dream project for them which they were planning this for a long time. “It was not just for us but even those young artist and entrepreneurs who were looking forward. Shoppings were already done, artists were flying in and so we had to refund for the tickets. It was such a dream crasher,” he said. 

With the Covid situation getting worse and the new SOPs with night curfew were imposed, Alobo said, “We did not have courage to go ahead with the festival. There was a point of time we thought ‘let’s not do it’ and we almost gave up hope.”

Just few days when the government issued the directives for educational institutes to reopen, the team decided to organise the festival, he added.

The festival will have Dr Nicky Kire, Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of Nagaland as the inaugural guest, and Theja Meru, Advisor, TaFMA and Vikali A Zhimomi, president NDPP women organization on day 2 and 3 respectively. 

Along with the music and others entertainment events, the festival also have food stalls and other stalls for entrepreneurs. 

The organisers also informed that it is mandatory for all to wear mask. The ticket price is Rs 250 per night. The gate opens at 3:30 pm. The festival will be telecasted live by NLTV.
