Mr. Bo Aung Din, PDP Leader of Myanmar criticized AUNG SAN SUU KYI for collaborating with the Military Government in Burma and has appealed to the World Investors not to invest in Burma till true Democracy returns to the Country.
The Key word in the criticism is: COLLABORATION. At personal level one may strike an Accord with a Culprit for the sake of Peace but it is not proper for good people to collaborate with undesirable People to produce desirable Good things. ‘GOOD’ cannot not collaborate with ‘EVIL’ for Peace.
Bo Aung Din, the Parliamentary Democracy Party Leader of Myanmar has stated that Democracy and Military Dictatorship cannot bring Democracy to the People of Myanmar with a Military manufactured Constitution which says:
i. 25% of the Assembly is Reserved for the Military Personnel.
ii. The President has to be chosen from the Military Personnel.
iii. The President has the right to form the Cabinet.
iv. The Army has the Right to Coup if necessary.
Can, a Military Government which says the President must be from the Military, the Cabinet must be formed by the Military, 25% of the Assembly Members must be from the Military and Military has every Right to Coup if necessary, bring Democracy? Can anybody expect Democracy from such a Constitution?
The Scripture Principle is very clear: ‘You should not make company with bad Characters’. This is true not only at the individual personal level; it is also true at Corporate and State level too.
In Nagaland; people, even Church Functionaries, talk as if the Political Talk between GoI and IM as if the Kingdom of Heaven would come to Nagaland at the end of the ‘mutually honorable solution’. People talk as if the political Peace should be brought at ANY Cost. Fore heaven’s sake; Please don’t utter National Level Words too easily without comprehension, you may be talking beyond your brief. Nothing in live should be done at ANY COST.
It is something of concern that Government of Nagaland seems to be rushing on to have a political Solution of the current GoI-IM Talk before the Assembly Election coming in just few months. Some say Interim Government may come, sometimes Supra-State and some people even say in hushed confidential tone that President Rule may be imposed. The word that best describe such a climate of nervousness in the Society is JITTERY and this mentality developed out of the lack of Reality in the Government Statements.
India today is long past Indira Gandhi Regime TIME, when ‘Indira Gandhi was India and India was Indira Gandhi’. Today India is actively vying for a Permanent Seat in the Security Council and the world knows India is an Economic Power to reckon with, but India is not yet matured enough to take the Responsibility of a permanent Security Council Member. And President Rule in Nagaland at this time, with reasons manufactured or not, will further downgrade India’s faint Security Council hope in the eyes of the World. A President Rule in Nagaland today may even cause an Political Tsunami in the Parliament that Manmohan has no advance warning about.
Nagaland seems to be acting like an Indigenous support Group similar to the NSCN’s manufactured International Support Group expecting to prop up the Talk but it is very doubtful it will make any dent in the Indian politics except giving a chance to the BJP to support something of anything.
During the NNC and GoI Talk in the late nineteen sixties, the NNC raised serious objections to the presence of the State Chief Minister Mr. Shilu of Nagaland in the Peace Talks: today the NSCN seem diffident without the support of the Chief Minister of Nagaland and not only that but also the support of the whole 60 Legislative Members of Nagaland Assembly on his side. Probably, this will have a great meaning in the coming Nagaland General Assembly Election.
Because of the NNC’s objections, Mr. Shilu was merged with the Government of the Indian Team in the Talk. Today the State Government’s position appears exactly the opposite though the Government of India appears to have no objection.
Mr. Muivah has in his declared Manifesto stated that Socialist Revolution through the Barrel of the Gun is the only way of attaining Naga Sovereignty. Has he given up the Maoist Idea now?
Muivah must first renounce Terrorist style Violent Armed Revolution before Manmohan Singh signs a Political Peace Concord with him.
