‘My Handloom, My Pride’ Handloom Expo underway

New Delhi, March 1 (MExN): Under the theme of ‘My Handloom, My Pride,’ the National Handloom Expo 2022 was inaugurated by Jyoti Kalash, IAS Chief Resident Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland in the presence of Wennyei Konyak, Deputy Resident Commissioner, NCS Nagaland House at Handloom Haat, Janpat, New Delhi on March 1.

According to a press release by Kuolie Mere, Dy Director IPR, Nagaland House, New Delhi, altogether 17 states from across the country are taking part in the National Handloom Expo. Out of the total 80 stalls, Nagaland has put up 25 stalls for show casing the handloom products of the state. 

Jyoti Kalash visited all the 80 stalls and interacted with the participants. Encouraging the entrepreneurs especially from Nagaland and North Eastern, he said that the best loom shawls are produce from NE. 

In the inaugural function, around 10 officials from Ministry were also present besides Nagaland Emporium, Manager, Taka Temsu, his staff and the Nagaland House staff. 

The Expo is sponsored by office of the Development Commissioner for Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It will conclude on March 15.
