N N Nagi School celebrated its 7th Annual Day with festive fervour this evening at the school auditorium, in Kuda Village, Dimapur. Attended by parents, students and well-wishers, the event was held under the theme ‘Winter Flair: A Floral Crescendo.’

Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), commended the school for its strong value-based education and its focus on holistic student development.

Having witnessed a variety of performances from pre-nursery to the senior grades, Dr Emmanuel expressed delight that the students showcased collaboration, communication, curiosity and other key 21st century skills. He emphasised that education must move beyond the simple transmission of information and instead cultivate the ability to identify, filter and apply reliable knowledge in an increasingly complex world.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he reiterated that education should draw out the inherent potential in every child. He highlighted the importance of resilience and the readiness to face failure which is particularly vital as India stands to harness the strength of its youthful population. ‘Values, ethics and integrity,’ he said, remain central to nurturing capable citizens who contribute meaningfully to the nation.

Dr Emmanuel also spoke about CISCE’s longstanding emphasis on experiential learning, linguistic proficiency, arts integration, sports and research-oriented activities—elements that have helped shape achievers across diverse global fields, including business, politics, sports and the arts.

Touching upon new initiatives, he shared that CISCE is preparing an exclusive programme for the foundational, primary and middle years, an Indian curriculum of international standards to be introduced from 2017–18. This will be supported by a comprehensive learning management system designed to aid both teachers and students.

Impressed by N N Nagi School’s harmonious blend of cultural rootedness and global perspective, he praised the faculty for their dedication. He noted that with upcoming infrastructure including separate hostels and a resource centre, the school is poised to become one of the best institutions in the region.

The collective efforts of management, teachers, parents and students form the “four wheels” that drive a school’s progress, he added. “I am so happy with this institution. I see life with this institution,” Dr Emmanuel remarked. Highlights of the evening included vibrant performances by students across all grades, marking the school’s celebration of talent and achievement.
