Dimapur, June 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Association of Goa (NAG) and Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) today joined others in condemning the vandalisation of the Naga Student Federation (NSF) office in Kohima on May 27. In a press release, the NAG termed the act as “barbaric” and said that it must be “deemed as the most coward and uncivilized act in our Naga society.”
“We strongly believe that such violence and destruction will not resolve conflicts or address grievances,” stated the release issued by the NAG President Alo Khing and General Secretary Huto Chophi.
The NSF office has been the pillar of educational development, social progress and the preservation of Naga identity and the recent act has left us all shocked heartbroken, it said.
In this connection, the NAG appealed the concerned administration and investigating authority to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
It further extended its fullest support and cooperation to the office of the NSF in pursuit of justice, peace and progress.
Meanwhile, in a statemenet issued by its Media Cell, WSYF condemned the “ill-willfull act” and said that such uncivilised act has no place in the present society.
To this end, it urged the state government to take necessary befitting action against culprits and further appealed appropriate authorities to settle issue pertaining to NSF office at Naga Club building at the earliest.
