Naga communities exhibit cultural diversity at Hornbill

Kisama, December 5 (MExN): The 5th day of cultural extravaganza presented by the Department of Art & Culture with the theme ‘Cultural Connect’ was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 5.

The chief guest was GOC 101 AREA Lt Gen, Sanjay Malik while Awang Jongwang Konyak was the tribal guest. Minister, Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak was the host. MLA, Kuzholuzo Nienu was also present. Traditional blessing was invoked by Awang Jongwang from Konyak tribe, a DIPR report stated. The programme was marked by cultural troupes of Yimkhiung, Kuki, Tikhir, Kachari, Pochury, Lotha, Konyak, Garo and Angami.

In the afternoon, Minister, Rural Development and SIRD, Metsubo Jamir and Advisor, Treasuries & Accounts and Art & Culture, Konngam Konyak was the host and co-host respectively.

CO Founder, Liamtra, Vianney Ruangmei was the Honoured Guest. MLA, Achumbemo Kikon also graced the programme. The traditional display was presented by cultural troupes of Rengma, Zeliang, Phom, Sumi, Sangtam, Chakhesang, Khiamniungan, Ao and Chang.
